I don’t often share smoothie or shake recipes on here, but then I made this chocolate peanut butter banana shake and was so pleasantly surprised that I had to share. And I made it again, too! The second time I made it, I think I added a tablespoon of collagen powder for extra protein. (I think that from a terminology standpoint, a shake is a smoothie that has dairy? And also more protein? Obviously this is not an ice cream milkshake here.)
Minimalist Baker has a vegan, protein powder-free protein shake with the same flavors if you’re interested, but I found it a bit too liquid and much preferred this one.
1 frozen banana
½ cup light vanilla or chocolate almond milk (I had plain lactose-free milk + 1 splash of vanilla)
1 Tbsp. cocoa powder
2 Tbsp. fat-free Greek yogurt
2 Tbsp. peanut butter
1 tsp. agave or honey
1 scoop collagen peptides or protein powder of choice
Place all of the ingredients in a blender. Blend until smooth and creamy. If the shake is too thick, add a little more almond milk.
