A Dagoba chocolate bar
I recently tried a few exotic chocolate bars by Dagoba. I had mentioned their chocolate drops before. Dagoba is a company that believes in sustainability and strives to “achieve high standards in quality, ecology, equity and community”. Their chocolate is made from organic cacao beans, and their line of exotic chocolate bars has some really interesting flavours. I tried the lemon-ginger-dark chocolate bar, but my favourite was the lavender-blueberry-dark chocolate bar. As opposed to the other lavender chocolate bar I reviewed, which had the same percentage of cocoa, this one had lavender essence, as opposed to lavender flowers. This, in my opinion, made it better, because you get the full taste of lavender without having to chew on dried flowers (the few blueberries in the bar were small and unobtrusive). I really liked it and will look for it again. Keep in mind that it is not safe for people with nut allergies and it is not entirely vegan (it does contain a fraction of a percent of milk, which is not enough to affect my lactose intolerance). It does appear to be gluten-free, though.
